Windows Animations: like those that happen when you minimize or maximize windows. To get better performance from the system turn off the windows animation settings.
Navigate to:
HCU\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
Change the value called MinAnimate to 0 to turn off Windows Animation.
NOTE: A Reboot is required for the change to take effect
